A native of Vivian and a resident of Baton Rouge for the last 57 years, Robert passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at age 81. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruby Wales Lantz; a daughter, Rhonda Edwards and husband David, of Tickfaw; three sons, Ronald Lantz, of Baton Rouge, Ralph Lantz and wife Rhonda, of Port Aransas, Texas, and Reid Lantz and wife Tanya, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; grandchildren, Christopher Boudreaux and wife Christie, of Denham Springs, Shannon Trahan and husband Weston, of Kaplan, Nicholas Lantz, of Port Aransas, and Olivia Lantz, of Gig Harbor; two sisters, Marjorie Lantz, of Texarkana, Texas, and Imogene Paris, of Vivian; four brothers, Jimmy Lantz, of Jefferson, Texas, Kenneth Lantz, of Natchitoches, Melvin "Buck" Lantz, of Vivian, and Michael Lantz, of Sweeny, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Caitlyn and Cullen Boudreaux, and Trinity and Alexis Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillie Lantz; and a sister, Dorleise Thompson. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Aug. 8, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Monday from 8 a.m. until the religious service at 9:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Carlisle and the Rev. Mike Cowart. Interment in Wales Cemetery, Chipola. Pallbearers will be Ronald Lantz, Ralph Lantz, Reid Lantz, Christopher Boudreaux, Nicholas Lantz and Mike Lantz. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge.
