Alex was born Wednesday, March 14, 1928, in Independence. He worked as a campground owner. Surviving are sons, Alex Carl and Mark Anthony LaPuma, both of Independence; two daughters, Patricia LaPuma Milazzo of Metairie and Melissa Jo LaPuma of Independence; two grandsons, Tony Milazzo lll and Eric Milazzo, both of Metairie; three sisters, Rose LaPuma Lucido of River Ridge, Ann LaPuma Dorsa of Arabi and Sally LaPuma Canale of Tickfaw; brother, Anthony LaPuma Sr. of Independence; and ex-wife, Sara LaPuma Gregory. He was preceded in death by parents, Carlo LaPuma and Lena Pumilia LaPuma; sisters, Dora Relan, Margie DiLorenzo, Katie Giuffria and Anna LaPuma; brother, Peter LaPuma; and first wife, Rose Anzelone LaPuma. Friends will be received Sunday, July 30, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Service will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, on Monday, July 31, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Restrepo officiating. Entombment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum, Independence. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia LaPuma Milazzo, Metairie; two sons, Alex Carl LaPuma and Mark Anthony LaPuma, both of Independence; two grand- children, Tony and Eric Milazzo, both of Metairie; and two brothers, Sam F. Anzalone and Dr. John T. Anzalone, both of Independence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lena Bonfiglio Anzalone; and a brother, Gene Anzalone.
