Tina was retired from the Hammond Developmental Center and will be dearly missed. Tina leaves behind her daughter, Cynthia Lard; son, Matthew Vernon; sisters, Faye Martin and Betty Kovach; brothers, Frank, Dub, Bobby, and P. T. Harper; grandchildren, Aurelia and Elijah Vernon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Tina in death were her parents, Leonard and Louisa Harper; sister, Linda Starkey and brothers, Leonard Ray Harper Jr. and John Harper. Lard; two daughters, Jo Eva Lard Patterson and husband Vernon, Jr. "Cotton" and Carla Jean Lard; two sisters, Charlotte Truax and husband Charles and Cathy Schillage and husband Johnny; two grandchildren, Brittany Colkmire and Luke Patterson; and a great granddaughter, Ava Bailey. "Jack" Lard, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Baton Rouge. He was an Army veteran who served in the 156th Infantry, a retired carpenter with Local #1098 and a retired farmer. He was also a member of the Hurd Merril Masonic Lodge #454 F&AM and a member of Livingston First Baptist Church. He was a native of Holden. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Hutchinson; sister, Llewellyn Hayden; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Campbell Lard; and two brothers, Murtry "Deke" Lard and Ernest Lard. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, today from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 2:30. The Rev. Alton Foster will conduct the service, and burial will be at Courtney Cemetery in Holden.
