She was 88 years old, born Feb. 19, 1918, in Independence, daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Levatino Pecoraro. She worked as a teacher for Mater Dolorosa School for 27 years. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Ann L. Dileo and Joe and Mary L. "Pete" Spruell and Ray, all of Greenwell Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Vince A. Larussa and Carol of Loranger; grandchildren and spouses, Philomena Dileo Greenblatt and husband Glenn of Greenwell Springs, Tonya Dileo Entremount and husband Chuck of Greenwell Springs, Dr. Joseph Dileo and wife Lana of Madisonville, Kristi Spruell Breaux and husband Kenneth, and Kevin Spruell, all of Houston, and Dana Larussa and Keith Larussa, both of Loranger; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Christian Greenblatt, Blakeli and Blair Entremount, Madison Dileo and Kaden Larussa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent John Larussa; two sisters, Mattie P. Cardaronella and Lena P. Matise; seven brothers, Anthony "Pick," Sam, Joe "Peck," Santo, Angelo "Chink," Phillip and Louis "Rex" Pecora. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence at 1 p.m. with the Very Rev. Paul A. McDuffie, V.F., celebrant. Interment in the Colonial Cemetery.
