LATHERS, GREGORY 
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Earl K. Long
Medical Center. He was 44 and a native of Independence. Visiting at
Winnfield Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, until religious
service at 10 a.m. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. He is survived by
his mother, Delories Lathers; two daughters, Ieasha Lathers and Crystal
Wilson; four sons, Gregory Lathers Jr., Domininque Harden, Billy Harden and
Felton Mearidy; two sisters, Judy L. Gurvin and Barbara and husband Richard
Hicks; three brothers, Earl and wife Gwen Lathers, Gary and wife Connie
Lathers, and Raful Lathers; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his father, Jerry Tony Jr.; two brothers, Melvin Vernell and
Edward "Lockett" Lathers; grandfather, Henry Lathers; and grandmother,
Julia Lathers.

LATHERS, KELVIN "RED" 
A brother, uncle, nephew and dear friend to anyone he met, he departed this
life Saturday, March 12, 2005, at his residence in Dennis Mills. He was 53.
Visiting at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home Inc., 7803 Florida Blvd.,
Denham Springs, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 18. Religious service
at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, La. 16, Dennis Mills, at 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 19, conducted by the Rev. Willie Laws. Interment in church
cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memory five sisters and three brothers-
in-law, Bernice and Phillip Ellsworth and Ase Lee and Howard Jones, all of
Dennis Mills, Bernadine and Curtis Donald, Baton Rouge, Martha Davis,
Ponchatoula, and Leona Williams, West Grove, Pa.; five brothers and four
sisters-in-law, Emile and Regina Lathers of Dennis Mills, Ernest and Mable
Truman, Destrehan, Harlin Sr. and Doris Lathers, Alexandria, Herman Sr. and
Charlotte Lathers, Independence, and Sam Lathers Sr., Baton Rouge; paternal
aunt, Mary Hughes of Dennis Mills; paternal uncle, Andrew Lathers Jr., Port
Allen; friends, Creasie Smith, Pine Grove, and Vivian Griffin, Denham
Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Essie and Luevinia Carter Lathers; a
brother, Randolph Lathers Sr.; sister, Brends Luevinia Lathers; maternal
grandparents, John and Virginia Scott Carter; and paternal grandparents,
Andrew and Angeline Washington Lathers.
