Hazel was born on Sunday, February 6, 1927 in Kokomo Mississippi. Mrs. Lato was retired from South Central Bell and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Surviving are son, Michael Lato; daughter & son-in-law, Kerry L. Rogers and Johnnie Rogers; sister, Helen Thompson; grandson and his wife, Kyle Rogers and Lindsey Rogers; grand- daughter and her husband, Kellye Rogers Davidson and Brian Davidson. She is preceded in death by husband, Joseph Lato; parents, John McDuffie and Mary Gilkey McDuffie; brothers, Manuel Penton and Dunwoodie McDuffie. Friends will be received Friday, October 24, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Hammond from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Lancaster officiating. Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Lucille Lato Crayon and Lee Crayon; daughter, Paula Lato; son, Dwayne Lato; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grand- children. She is preceded in death by husband of 56 years, Paul Joseph Lato; daughter, Grace Lato Lamonte; parents, Vincent and Lucy Guagliardo Milioto; sisters, Antonio Nicolosi, Maggie DiPrima, Rosie Rollo, Frances Marchese, Lena Catalanotto, Mamie Rollo, Jennie Valaruto, Katie Cardinale and Josie Monistere.
