Judy was born at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Since 1979, Judy has been a resident of Hammond Developmental Center (now known as Evergreen Life Services), where she has received excellent supervised care by loving employees of the Center. During her 33-year-stay at HDC, within her limitations Judy became a productive member of society, holding a series of jobs and proudly contributing to her own support. Prior to making HDC her home, Judy was well-known in Port Allen, Louisiana where she accompanied her late mother as an Avon saleslady. Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Luca and Rachel (Ricca) Corona, her parents, Charles Dolphus and Delia (Corona) LaVallee of Port Allen, Louisiana, several maternal aunts and uncles, plus some cousins. She is survived by her brother, Bill LaVallee; niece Shawn LaVallee and her daughter, Cassidy LaVallee; nephew Chuck LaVallee and his wife Dana Dickey along with their son, Dashiell Roi LaVallee all residents of Hollywood, California. She is also survived by first cousins David and Susan Corona of Baton Rouge, Carolyn (Corona) and Wayne Achee of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, Charles Owen Simmons, Jr. of Baton Rouge and Rachel (Saia) Morgan of Metairie, with numerous cousins in Louisiana and Texas. Known for her salty sense of humor coupled with sometimes outrageously wicked observations of life and those around her, Judy will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. In the last weeks of her life, Judy was a guest of St. Joseph's Hospice: The Carpenter House and was cared for with the most compassionate, loving attention by the exceptional caretakers there. Judy's family believes that although she may have been limited in this life, today in her new life she has achieved perfection. The family encourages donations in Judy's name to Evergreen Life Services (http://evergreenls.org/donate) and/or Carpenter House @ https://www.stjosephhospicefoundation.org/donations.php. ******************************************************************************** File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/tangipahoa/obits/obitssur/lavallee.txt
