He was 83, a resident of Albany and a native of Calvert, Texas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, conducted by the Rev. Leo Guillot. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 58” years, Cloren Garlotte Lavender; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon M. Lavender Broussard, Judy L. and Jerome Nicholas, Shreveport, and Corliss L. and Denis Ivanyisky, Albany; a son and daughter-in-law, Dorian F. Jr. and Meena Lavender, Devon, England; and seven grandchildren, Chris, Katie and Matthew Paul Ivanyisky, Matthew David and Joseph Nicholas and Dorian and Emily Spain-Lavender. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert F. Lavender and Lucile Buckley Lavender.
