A resident of Bogalusa, he died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at LSU Medical Center. He was 74. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tony Coburn, of Bogalusa; son and daughter-in-law, Orville K. and Lilibeth Lavinghouse, of Zachary; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Glenn and Opal Lavinghouse, of Bogalusa; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joann and Charles Sharp and Cheryle and Billy Barber, all of Bogalusa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Orville and Barbara Winburn, of Ponchatoula; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Joy Ellen Lavinghouse. Visiting at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel, Bogalusa, on Sunday, Dec. 9, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Red Kennedy. Interment in Ponemah Cemetery with Military Rites provided by Magic City Post 24 of the American Legion.
