She was 72 and a native of New Orleans. Graveside service at Ponchatoula Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday. Survived by two daughters, Janice Dysart, Picayune, Miss., and Debra McCraine, Ponchatoula; two sons, Billy Lawhorn and Bobby Lawhorn, both of Ponchatoula; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Vicki Calahan, Houma; and a brother, Joseph Palissie, Violet. Preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lawhorn Sr.; two daughters, Lindy Denet and Carol Ann McCraine; a granddaughter, Wendy Nunez; three sisters, Rosie Palissie, Tiny Martin and Esther Palissie; and a brother, John Palissie. Ponchatoula - William David Lawhorn Sr., 70, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was a native of Ponchatoula and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of service including Vietnam, Korea and the Philippines. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Palassie Lawhorn of Ponchatoula; two sons, William "Billy" David Lawhorn Jr. and Robert Joseph Lawhorn, both of Ponchatoula; two daughters, Debra Jene McCraine of Ponchatoula and Janice "J." Kathrine Dysart of Picayune, Miss.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lynn Denet and Carol Ann McCraine. A graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
