LAY, AVERY E.
Avery E. Lay, 76 years old of Hammond, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 
his residence.  He was born on Thursday, June 29, 1933, in Corbin, 
Kentucky.  Mr. Lay retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years 
of service.  Surviving are his wife, Barbara Joseph Lay; 2 daughters, Judy 
L. Tye and Donna L. Arnone; 3 grandsons, Jason E. Tye, Joshua J. Arnone, 
and Drake L. Arnone; and sister, Sharon Thomas.  He is preceded in death 
by his parents, Julia Lloyd and Arley Lay; sister, Wanda Lee Lay; and 3 
brothers, Darrell, Harold, and Johnny Lay.  Friends will be received 
Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in 
Hammond from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Deacon 
Wallace Gainey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial

LAY, JOHN WILLIAM, JR.
John William Lay Jr., 55 years old of Ponchatoula, LA, died Thursday, June
18, 2009.  He was born on May 4, 1954, in New Orleans.  Surviving are wife,
Elizabeth Lay; son, John W. "Jack" Lay lll; daughter, Wendy Thomas;
grandson, A.J. Thomas; uncle and aunt, Avery and Barbara Lay; nephews,
Bryan and Wesley Kelly.  He is preceded in death by parents, John W. Lay
Sr. and Bernadine Bednarski; uncle Harold Lay.  Services will be private.
