LeBLEU, EVELIA LeBLANC BABINEAUX
Evelia LeBlanc Babineaux LeBleu, 103, a native of Hathaway, died at her
home in Arcola on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. She was a member of the St. Helena
Catholic Church in Amite. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on
Thursday, May 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 
7 p.m. Visiting at St. Helena Catholic Church on Friday from 8 a.m. to 
8:50 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Joe
Camilleri, celebrant. Interment in Bertrand Cemetery, Bertrand Road, a
continuation of Bucklin Road, north and east of Hathaway. Those attending
the burial are to meet at the cemetery at 3 p.m. Friday for graveside
prayers, conducted by Monsignor Ronnie Groth. Mrs. LeBleu is survived by
three daughters, Marie Weiskopf, Picayune, Miss., Dolores LeJeune, Arcola,
and Loretta Gilly, Denton, Texas; stepson, Jerry LeBleu, Port Neches,
Texas; adopted daughter, Josefita "Jody" Candelaria, Denver; sister, Lelia
Hill, Keithville; 26 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 53 great-
great-grandchildren and a great-great-great-grandchild. Evelia LeBleu was
preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Babineaux; second husband,
John C. LeBleu; three brothers, Elzy "Jack" LeBlanc, Meyuse LeBlanc and
Eldridge LeBlanc; two children, Rosetta Babineaux and Juanita Hall;
stepson, John H. LeBleu; and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations or Mass requests may be made to St. Helena Catholic
