He was a native of Maurepas. He was a retired shipyard welder, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 47 in Ponchatoula having served as past area commander and past post commander, a member of the VFW Post 3652 of Hammond and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Vander Hayden Council 4874. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Decoteau LeBourgeois of Ponchatoula; two children, Earl J. "Jay" LeBourgeois Jr. of Warminster, Pa., and Wayne LeBourgeois of Ponchatoula; four sisters, Eunice Broussard of New Orleans, Margie Abels and Mrytle Peco, both of Hammond, and Gladys Reinbhardt of New Orleans; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Noalie Dupuy LeBourgeois; one daughter, Renee LeBourgeois Platt; and one daughter, Marguerite L. Baham. Visitation will be Saturday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Surviving are her 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Earl "Jay" and Jan LeBourgeois Jr., Wayne and Lana LeBourgeois; 5 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren; sister, Aline Saltzman and brother, Leroy Decoteau.
