She lived a life of caring for others. Elsie lived with her beloved parents in Ponchatoula until her father's death in 1961 and her mother's death in 1976. She then came to live with her sister, Rosina, in Independence. Elsie became a member of the First Baptist Church in Independence, where she took care of the children in the nursery during services for over twenty years. She loved them all as family. She is survived by two sisters, Rosina Anzalone of Independence and Audrey Varisco of Baton Rouge. She loved her 11 nieces and nephews and 25 great-nieces and great-nephews with a grandmother's heart, as she had no children of her own.
