Albert J. LeMay Jr., 82 years old of Tickfaw, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, August 10, 1929, in Independence. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all. Mr. LeMay was retired from Southeastern Louisiana University and was a member of the American Legion, Chappepeela Post #255 and Knights of Columbus, 3rd and 4th degree. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Frances Calderone LeMay; son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherry LeMay; 3 grandchildren, Marcy LeMay Jones and husband Doug, Christopher LeMay and wife Candace, and Hailey LeMay; 2 great- granddaughters, Addison Jones and Jayden LeMay; brother, Ernest LeMay; and sister, Katherine Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nita LeMay and Albert J. LeMay Sr.; and daughter, Melanie Maria LeMay. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Monday, April 23, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw, Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Father Cayet Mangiaracina, O. P., celebrant. Interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.
