He was born on Wednesday, November 4, 1970, in Houma, LA. Mr. Lentz worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction field. Surviving are his wife, Vicki Peterson Lentz; son, Patrick "PJ" Anthony Lentz Jr.; mother and step-father, Cindy and Gary Bauerle; father and step-mother, David and Wanda Lentz; 2 brothers, Jon and Mark Lentz; and his grandmother, Janet Gilcrease. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glenn Gilcrease. A retired operating engineer and a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 406, he died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Kentwood. He was 63, a resident of Kentwood and a native of Herrin, Ill. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visitation in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by Brother Steve Munsell and Brother Jay Ashford. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery, Denham Springs. He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Connie Lentz Easterly and Dawes K. Easterly of Kentwood, Dianne Lentz Bergeron and Robert Bergeron of Walker, Barbara Ann Lentz Nadeau of Denham Springs and Lisa Lentz Carlton and Timmy Carlton of Ottawa, Ill.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip Thomas Lentz Jr. of Denham Springs and James Edward and Monisa Lentz of Walker; mother of his children and dearest friend, Barbara Ballard Lentz of Walker; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur E. "Pat" and Annette Lentz and Wayne and Connie Lentz, all of Watson; 11 grandchildren, Thomas Adams, Michael Adams, Toby Easterly, Bobby Singleton, Joey Singleton, Jennifer Nadeau, Tiffany Carlton, Scottie Carlton, Megan Dier, Dillan Lentz and Ashley Lentz; a great-grandchild, Tate Nadeau; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Berl and Beatrice David Lentz; and a brother, Henry Lentz. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Nat Bankston, retired registrar of voters for East Baton Rouge Parish.
