LEON, RICHARD RAYMOND
Richard Raymond Leon, 78 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away 
Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, 
Alabama.  He was born on Friday, November 25, 1932, in New Orleans, La.
Richard Leon was a member of the New Orleans Camilla Club and the Knights 
of Columbus. He was also a Eucharist Minister for St. Joseph Catholic 
Church in Ponchatoula, La. And volunteered at North Oaks Medical Center.
He was a retired employee of Pan American Life Insurance Company for 23
years. His service to the company span 37 years.  Surviving are wife, Mary 
Anne B. Leon, son & daughter-in-law, Steve and Tiny Leon, stepson & 
daughter-in-law, Dean and De Dee Ockman, stepson and girlfriend, Duane and 
Tami Ockman, grandchildren, Amber and Brad Leon, step grandchildren, 
Lauren and Kaley Ockman.  He is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and 
Vera Leon, former spouse, Sylvia Bergeron Leon.  Friends will be received 
Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, La.  Mass will be held at St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, La, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum Hammond, 
Louisiana.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Masses or
