He was 73 and a native of Independence. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond, Sunday, May 29, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel on Monday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Colonial Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Niehaus Leto of Tickfaw; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and David Stewart of Tickfaw; stepdaughter, Janice Moya of Ponchatoula; two stepsons, Wayne Wiggins of Carencro and James Wiggins of Ponchatoula; 10 grand- children and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tena Leto; a son, Salvadore Leto; and parents, Sam and Tina Collura Leto. Peco of Hammond, Mrs. John Bertone of Hammond; Miss Jennie Leto of Hammond; Phillip Leto of Chicago, Ill.; Nat and Tony Leto of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren and 9 great, grandchildren. She was a sister of Mrs. Joe Accardo of Patterson; Mrs. Carlo Messina of Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Joe Cutura of New Iberia; brothers Tony Cognato of Hammond and Joe Cognato of New Orleans. ***************************************************************************
