George Wallace Lingo, Jr., 65, of Hammond passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on July 27, 1944 in New Orleans to the late George Wallace Lingo, Sr. and Anna Rita Heim Lingo. Mr. Lingo was a heavy equipment operator and member of Local 406. He was also a 1976 survivor of the Luling Ferry accident. He is survived by his wife, Leona Monistere Lingo; daughter, Dana Lingo; 2 sons and wives, Jerry and Tammy Lingo, Barry and Lucia Lingo, and son, Charles Lingo; 3 step sons and wives, Henry and Lisa Garner, Richard A. and Anita Garner, and Leonard and Helen Garner; 8 grandchildren, Jamie Peterson, Samantha and Ryan Lingo, Colby, Lane, Caitlyn, and Kohl Garner, and Noah Cline; sister, JoAnn Howell. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 9:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. Funeral Home Chapel Service. Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.
