In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6. Linda was born in 1941 in Baptist, the youngest of six daughters of Baudy and Juanita Bankston. She attended elementary school in Natalbany and graduated valedictorian of Hammond High School in 1958. She earned a masters plus 30 hours from Southeastern Louisiana University and taught English at Hammond High School for 31 years. Linda loved the faculty and students, many of who became life-long friends. She devoted many years to her alma mater and worked tirelessly to provide quality educational experiences for the students and community. She took great pride in being a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and friend. She was a beloved adopted grandmother to the children of Holy Ghost School and enjoyed seeing her "babies" every week. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, especially vacations at Orange Beach and holidays in her home. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and volunteered for many years at area nursing homes. After retirement, her life's mission was to send cards of encouragement to family and friends. Linda was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Al. She was his confidante, helpmate and best friend. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Albert P. Link Jr.; daughter, Kim Sullivan Hall; granddaughter, Brittany Lyn Hall; son-in-law, Randy Hall; stepson, Steve Link (Michele); stepdaughter, Mary Beth Crovetto (Kevin); grandchildren, Sarah and Logan Link and Greg, Mary Anna and Alexandra Crovetto; and sisters, Ellazene Greer and Barbara DePriest (Floyd). She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maxine Finch, Dolores Starkey and Betty Jacobsen; niece, Connie Jacobsen Tschantz; and nephews, Paul Joseph and Toney Starkey and Robert Finch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church or charity of your choice. In lieu of food, donations can be made to Our Daily Bread or your local food pantry.
