Adam Lipford, 22, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, during a training exercise in Guam. Upon graduating from high school he entered boot camp followed by tank school. He was named an honor graduate and was meritoriously promoted to to lance corporal. He was deployed in support of Operation Bright Star with the First Tank, Battalion, 29 Palms, Calif., where he once again won the meritorious Corporal Board. His other military missions and achievements include qualifying with distinguished marks during gunnery exercise, serving in Operation Sweeney, leading a fire team plus of non-infantry in Exercise Edged Mallet in which he worked closely with the Kenya Military, and Iraqi Freedom. His military decorations include the Good Conduct Medal in addition to the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He is survived by his mother, Lynelle Lipford; and his fiancee, Adriana Trujillo. Visitation will be today at Schoen Funeral Home, Covington, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday at Bedico Baptist Church, from 10 a.m. until the funeral at noon. Burial will be in Theo- Dendinger Cemetery, Madisonville.
