A native of Waco, Texas, he was a member of Eagle Heights Community Church and served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by one son, Curt Lipsey; two daughters, Tanya Lamy and Heather Lipsey, both of Hammond; his mother, Ruth Scott Lipsey of Waco; one brother, Willie Lipsey of Waco; four sisters, Fayrene Slaughter of Valley Mills, Texas, Elaine Dickau of Robinson, Texas, Mary Tabola of El Mott, Texas, and Sara Darden of Idabel, Okla.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Clay Lipsey; and one brother, Jackie Lipsey. Visitation will be tonight at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the Rev. Kevin Dunn conducts the funeral at 10. Burial will be at New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Eagle Heights Community Church, 48558 Woodhaven Road, Tickfaw, LA.
