She was a native of Hammond and a homemaker. She worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell and J.P. Marsh. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace and was an auxiliary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6640. She is survived by her husband, James Loechner; a brother, Ignatius Plantago of Hammond; and six sisters, Rose Wrobel of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mary McKnight and Catherine Plantago, both of Baton Rouge, Josephine Sughero of Harwood Heights, Ill., Ann Luksa of Berwyn, Ill., and Lauretta Wagner of Malvern, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances Mercante Plantago; one brother, John Plantago; and one sister, Chris Luska. A funeral Mass was Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace. Burial was in St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace. Millet Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, was in charge. ***************************************************************************
