LONGMIRE, NOLAN DAVID, SR.
Age 72, a resident of Albany and a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend, Nolan passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at North Oaks
Medical Center, Hammond. A member of Light House Baptist Church, Nolan was
a native of Coles, Miss. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Fanny Lea Davis Longmire, of
Albany; two sons, David Longmire, of Pride, and Christopher Longmire, of
Albany; two daughters, Sandra Kay Longmire, of Baton Rouge, and Belinda
Morgan, of Albany; and two brothers, R.B. Longmire, of Austin, Texas, and
Royce Longmire, of Watson. He leaves behind 11 precious grandchildren.
Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Katie Nevels
Longmire; brothers, William Longmire and Leon Longmire; and sister, Nell
Bethel. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the
funeral service at Light House Baptist Church, Albany, on Thursday, Nov.
20, at 10 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from the
chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 La. 190 W, Hammond, on
Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Light
House Baptist Church on Thursday beginning at 8 a.m. until the service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Condolences and other
