LOPINTO, SAM VINCENT
Sam Vincent Lopinto, 75 of Independence, died Saturday, December 23, 2006
at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center.  He was born October 17, 1931 in
Independence, son of the late Peter and Carmello Cardaronella Lopinto.
He was a former barber at Tip Top Barber shop and retired from Louisiana
Department of Employment Security. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa
Catholic Church building committe and was a commentator for over 25 years.
He was also a U.S. Army veteran of Korea.  Surviving are his wife, Louise
Catalano Lopinto, and son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Wood Lopinto;
grandson, Christopher Lopinto; and brothers, Victor and John Lopinto.  He
was preceded in death by a sister, Congetta Ogima, and five brothers,
Joseph, Emile, Frank, Tony, and Pete Lopinto.  Friends will be received
Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 9 am
until 12:30 pm.  Services will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church,
Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 1 PM with Very Rev. Paul A. McDuffie, V.F.
officiating.  Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum.
