He was born October 17, 1931 in Independence, son of the late Peter and Carmello Cardaronella Lopinto. He was a former barber at Tip Top Barber shop and retired from Louisiana Department of Employment Security. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church building committe and was a commentator for over 25 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Surviving are his wife, Louise Catalano Lopinto, and son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Wood Lopinto; grandson, Christopher Lopinto; and brothers, Victor and John Lopinto. He was preceded in death by a sister, Congetta Ogima, and five brothers, Joseph, Emile, Frank, Tony, and Pete Lopinto. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 9 am until 12:30 pm. Services will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 1 PM with Very Rev. Paul A. McDuffie, V.F. officiating.
