She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Bogalusa. She was a kindergarten assistant at Trinity Episcopal Day School for the past 20 years. To the hundreds of students whose lives she touched, she will forever be remembered as "Miss Amber." Survived by her husband of 29 years, Steve Lousteau; children, Jeffrey and Jennifer Lousteau; mother and stepfather, Patricia and Jack Barber, of Amite; mother-in-law, Beverly C. Lousteau, of Norco; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and John DePhillips, of Hammond; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ira Lynn Vampran, of Bogalusa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Docky Gisclair, of Baton Rouge; six nieces, Amanda Bullock, Jonte DePhillips, Jeanne Marie Gisclair, Michelle Gisclair, Heather Phillips and Jessica Vampran; three nephews, Trey DePhillips, Jean Paul Gisclair and Trey Gisclair; and great- niece, Caroline Lena Bullock. Preceded in death by her father, Ambrow Vampran; sister, Lena Penton; and father-in-law, Etienne J. Lousteau. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Yi, celebrant. Interment in St. George Catholic Church Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Lousteau, Trey DePhillips, John Vampran, Jean Paul Gisclair, John Murray and Mark Levert. The family would like to say thanks to all their friends for their expressions of love and hope for Amber's cure through greeting cards, e-mails, flowers, food and, most importantly, prayers. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and the nurses on the fifth floor oncology unit of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
