Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Kentwood, he was the son of the late Fred W. "Pat" Loving and Cleo Schilling Loving. He was a retired computer engineer from NCR. Mr. Loving was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville, and the Seminar Class. He was a member of Alpha Masonic Lodge 729, Kettering, Ohio, and the Antioch Shrine Center, Dayton, Ohio. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alva Ray Loving and Robert Allen Loving. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Hammack Loving of Simpsonville; two sons, David Bryant Loving and his wife, Gail, of Indianapolis, and D. Glenn Loving and his wife, Lynn, of Dayton, Ohio; brother, William Alfred Loving and his wife, Sharon, of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, Joseph Meier and his wife, Kim, Jeremy Meier and his wife, Julie, Jessica Nicole Loving, and Amanda Jordan Loving; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Procession will go to Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery for graveside service immediately following. Dr. Terry Booth will officiate. The pallbearers will be his two brothers, David and Glenn, and nephews, Tommy, Patrick, Mike and Steve Loving. The honorary pallbearers are Jimmie B. Hammack, William Harris, Don Wurden, Edgar Wightman, Kenneth Welty and Charles "Tad" Claypool. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 847 Cleveland St., Greenville, S.C. 29601 or to any Shriners Hospital for Children.
