INDEPENDENCE - Alex D. Lucido, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, in Zachary. A native and resident of Independence, he was a farmer and U.S. military veteran. He is survived by a sister, Lean Lucido of Independence. His parents, George and Frances Lamarca Lucido, preceded him in death as did a sister, Mary Lucido; and four brothers, Joe, Paul, Vic and George Lucido. The Rev. Survivors include her daughter, Marie Lucido Matherne of Norco; two sisters, Nancy Major of Independence, and Lelah Palmisano of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Tony Giacone of Independence and Joe Giacone of Baton rouge; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Kelly Lucido; four sisters, Lena Caccatore, Katie Zinna, Rose Bergeron and Rose Marie Bergeron; and five brothers, Carlo, Gasper, Leon, George and Nick Giacone, preceded her in death. Visitation will be Wednesday at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the Rev. Paul McDuffie conducts the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Colonial Cemetery.
