He was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and a former member of Cavalier Club. He was a 1937 graduate of Catholic High School. A native of Tickfaw, he was a former Tangipahoa Parish police juror. He served his country for five years in World War II. He participated in five major campaigns in the European Theatre, 34th Tank Battalion, as first sergeant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, DAV, American Legion Post 47 of Ponchatoula and a life-time member of the Pontchartrain Beagle Club. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia "Jean" Pepitone Macaluso of Ponchatoula; two sons, Ron and Richard Macaluso, both of Hammond; three daughters, Debbi Peare of Indianapolis, Debbie Ritter of Youngsville and Donna Fisher of Ponchatoula; two brothers, Sam and Joe Dorsa, both of New Orleans; two sisters, Josie Fuller of Ponchatoula and Lena Amato of Hammond; 12 grand- children and three great-grandchildren.
