MacDANEL, ANNA MAY PICARD 
GUEYDAN ‹ Services for Anna May Picard MacDanel, 89, will be held on 
Friday, November 14, 2008 @ 1:00 PM at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in 
Gueydan, La with Rev. Champ Cox officiating the services.  Mrs. MacDanel 
was called unto heaven on Tuesday, November 11th from the Kaplan Health 
Center. She was born in Abbeville, La to Gilbert and Fedora Benoit Picard. 
She will be laid to rest in the Indian Bayou Cemetery following her 
services.  Mrs. MacDanel was a homemaker. She and her husband also owned 
Owen & Pioneers Motel in Gueydan. She was a friendly, loving person and 
will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Survivors include her son, 
Dr. John L. Lawrence and wife Edith of Shreveport; step son, Patrick 
MacDanel and wife Leslie of Baton Rouge; daughter, Beverly L. Myers of 
Hammond; step daughter, Ginger MacDanel of North Dakota; three brothers, 
Joseph D. Picard of Sulphur, Charles Picard and wife Betty of Lake 
Charles, and Kenneth Picard and wife Mary Ann of Slidell; one sister, 
Gayle Langhan and husband Denis also of Slidell; six grandchildren, 
Johnette L. Ippolito and her children Jeremy & Joshua, Mark Kohlmann 
Myers and his daughter Rayna, Diana Faye Currier and her sons Luke & 
Daren, Paul Myers, Dena Rose and her three children, and Cindy Faulk and 
her daughters Samantha & Summer.  Preceded in death by her parents; 
husband, Jerry MacDanel; one son, Tommy Lawrence; twin great grand-
children, Conner & Tyrin Myers of Hammond.  Visitation will begin on 
Friday, November 14th from 11:00 AM until time of service. Words of

Bergeaux, MSN Gwen Klower of Kaplan & Gueydan, and all the doctors and 
nurses at the Abrom Kaplan Hospital and all the wonderful staff at 
Kaplan Health Center. Special thanks to Ms. Ann Henry, Ms. Amy Lowell, 
and Mrs. Barbara Rice of Kaplan, La for the guidance given to her 
daughter, Beverly. We are so proud to have known all the wonderful 
people in Kaplan and Gueydan.
