He was 57. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Thursday. Religious service at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. Interment in Colonial Cemetery, Independence. Survived by his wife, Louise Gill Maggio, Independence; a daughter, Stacie Louise Vitrano, Independence; a son, Bryan Scott Maggio, Independence; and two grandchildren, Garrett Cole Vitrano and Taylor Nicole Vitrano. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Theresa Maggio. The family would like to thank Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center and Trinity Hospice and their staffs for their care and support.
