A memorial service will be held, 10 a.m., Saturday, September 27th, 2008 at Oenaville Baptist Church Temple, Texas, Reverend Roy Carpenter officiating. Mrs. Mahan was born April 24, 1937, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Henry and Katherine Saucier Hoyt. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, George Mahan; a sister, Bonnie Strahan Lopez; brother-in-laws, Tunney McCullen, James Mahan, and Patrick Mahan; a nephew, Johnny Strahan. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Mahan, Temple, Texas; sisters Ada (Sis) McCullen, Holden, Louisiana; Sally Hoyt, Albany, Louisiana; Jackie Tantillo Ard, Osyka, Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Oenaville Baptist Church, 6161 Dudley Rd., Troy, Texas, 76579. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 5/29/2001 MAHAN, PEARL BEATRICE KEATHLEY A retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Revenue and Taxation, she died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at her residence in Tickfaw. She was 79 and a native of Enola, Ark. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Hammond, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Rodney Taylor. Interment in Sand Hill Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, Betty Kennedy and Martha Porta, both of Tickfaw; two sisters, Christine Lane, Vilonia, Ark., and Helen Shock, Conway, Ark.; a brother, John Keathley, Denard, Ark.; eight grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husbands, Noble Beaver and Oscar Mahan; parents, John and Margaret E. Keathley; a son, Oscar Mahan Jr.; and a grandchild.
