A retired heavy equipment operator and a resident of Ponchatoula, he died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at his residence. He was 75 and a native of New Orleans. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Merchant Marine. Memorial services at Bedico Community Center, 41172 C.C. Road, Ponchatoula, at 9 a.m. Saturday. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie Wyers Mahl; a daughter, Kathaleen Mahl Pourciau; two sons, Bruce Edward Mahl and Michael David Mahl; five sisters, Anna Mae Redd, Louise Carr, Dorothy Fuselier, JoAnn Duvalle and Jacqueline Gerstner; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Alexander "Alec" Mahl; mother, Mae Adams; and a stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Billet. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of St. Tammany, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433. N.A.
