Born in the Flat Rock Community of Anderson County, S.C., on September 10, 1918, Mr. Majeski was a son of the late Anton and Mattie Hall Majeski. He attended Flat Rock Presbyterian Church as long as he was able. In 1941, Mr. Majeski enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Japan and Korea and Biloxi, Miss. In 1948, he witnessed testing of the atomic bombs at Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific. In Biloxi, he met Dora Torries Carmichael, and they married in 1962. They lived in Anderson and in Elkins West Virginia after he retired from the Air Force. After Dora's death in 1968, Carl moved back to Anderson to his parent's home on Elrod Road in the Flat Rock Community. Survivors include sister, Virginia Hampton of Anderson; stepson, Thomas Carmichael and wife, Linda of Hammond, LA; niece, Ellen Dickson and husband, James; nephew, James Hampton and wife, Nancy; two great nieces; one great nephew; four great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. A special friend, Edna Hall also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Myrtle Majeski and a nephew, Donald Hampton. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Flat Rock Presbyterian Church officiated by the Reverend Sanders Read. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The family will be at the home of his sister, Virginia Hampton, 121 Alice Drive, Anderson, S.C. Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, 909 Flat Rock Road, Anderson, SC 29624.
