He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Local 130 Electrician Union, New Orleans. He is survived by his wife, Frances Piediscalzo Mangano of Hammond; one daughter, Elizabeth Mangano Gregoire of Hammond; one son, Chris J. Mangano of Hammond; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Mangano of River Ridge; and one sister, Mary Rodrigue of Avondale. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Schlumbrieth Mangano; two brothers, Johnnie and Theodore Mangano; and one sister, Josephine Mangano. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond. The funeral will be at 1 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, followed by burial at Greenlawn Mausoleum.
