She was 91 and a retired employee of Citizens Bank. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Monday, June 17 from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by Rev. Father Cleo J. Milano. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park. She is survived by her two sons, John Patrick "J.P." Markins, Jr. & wife Betty Gayle Case Markins of Plaquemine; Michael "Mike" Markins & wife Jennifer Gourgues Markins of Plaquemine; six grandchildren, John P. Markins, III & wife Marcy of Plaquemine; Ollie "Bette" Markins Vignes & husband Leon of Ponchatoula; Christopher Markins & wife Crystal of Plaquemine; Hutch Markins & wife Christie of Plaquemine; Hunter Markins of Plaquemine & Halli Markins Thibodaux & husband Justin of Thibodaux; and 12 great grandchildren, Lilly Markins; Belle, Blair, Lee & Luke Vignes; Mason & Alexa Markins; Katlyn Whatley; Grace Barr; Chloe & Cole Markins; Cameron Thibodaux. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Markins, Sr.; and her parents, E.C. & Carrie Albus Ivins. Pallbearers are Grandsons, Jack Devillier, Steve Devillier, Leon Vignes & Justin Thibodaux. Honorary Pallbearers are A.P. Brown, Jr. & Leslie Biggs. Post Mortem Pallbearer, Michael Gourgues. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1214, holding several offices including past Grand Regent and District Deputy, and St. John Altar Society. She was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
