MARMILLION, EDITH BROYLES
A resident and native of Kentwood, she died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, March 7,
1999, at her home. She was 91. Visiting at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church,
Kentwood, 8 a.m. Tuesday until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by
the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by
a sister, Mary Pope Dean, Line Creek; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in
death by her husband, A.J. "Pops" Marmillion; and 11 brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Cancer
Society or to your favorite charity. McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in
charge of arrangements.

MARMILLION, GERALDINE
Geraldine Marmillion, a native of New Orleans and resident of Ponchatoula, 
passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her residence at the age of 91. 
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the 
Rosary Altar Society. Geraldine served in the U.S. Army as a nurse.
Geraldine leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Merlin Jules 
Marmillion; two sons, Gary Merlin Marmillion and wife Pauline, Chris Paul 
Marmillion, along with grandchildren, Patricia Alice Marmillion, Gary 
Merlin Marmillion, Jr. and wife Janet, Merlin Jules Marmillion II and wife 
Haley; great-grandchildren, Kyle Jeffery Marmillion and Hayle Sharee 
Marmillion. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Wainwright and Audrey 
Pechon; brother, Alvin Kenneth McMurray, as well as, numerous nieces and 
nephews.  Preceding Geraldine in death were her parents, Alvin and Irene 
Dunn McMurray; brother, Charlie McMurray; grandparents, Henery McMurray, 
Margaret Vaughn, Michael F. Dunn, Hermina Blanchard Dunn.  Relatives and 
friends of the family are invited to attend the religious services from the 
chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Ponchatoula on Monday, July 
16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with visiting hours beginning at 9:00 a.m. Deacon 
Larry Melancon will officiate the services and interment will follow in 
Ponchatoula Cemetery.  Condolences and other information are available

MARMILLION, MERLIN J.
Age 92 and a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, Merlin passed away on 
Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at his residence. He was the owner/operator of Green 
Thumb Nursery for 42 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served 
during WWII. Merlin was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 
4th degree with the Knights of Columbus. He was also an agriculture teacher 
at Springfield High School.  Merlin leaves behind his sons, Gary Merlin 
Marmillion and wife Pauline, Chris Marmillion, along with grandchildren, 
Patricia Alice Marmillion, Gary Merlin Marmillion, Jr. and wife Janet, 
Merlin Jules Marmillion II and wife Haley; great-grandchildren, Kyle 
Jeffery Marmillion and Hayle Sharee Marmillion.  Preceding Merlin in death 
were his wife, Geraldine Marmillion; brothers, Alvin and Norman Marmillion, 
sister, Edmee Adams.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to 
attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 
Ponchatoula, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Mass 
of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. 
Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina will officiate the Mass and interment will follow in 
Ponchatoula Cemetery.  Condolences and other information are available
