She was 83 years old. She is survived by her children: Son, Patrick Ray Balisteri, and wife Susan of Hammond; son, Greg Marten and wife Marley of Hammond; son, Sammy Marten of Memphis; son Tommy Marten and wife Jo Ellen of Hammond; daughter, Brenda Marten Morris and husband Scott of Austin, TX; daughter, Mary Beth Marten of Hammond. Also, eight grandchildren: Patrick Ray Balister, Jr. and wife Jill; Martin Balisteri and wife Jennifer; Myrie Marten Burvant and husband Joel; Kristen Marten and Ryan Marten; Leila Marten, Caroline and Emily Kopfler. Also, five great-grandchildren: Ryan, Peyton, Courtney, Parker, and Patrick Balisteri; brother, Victor J. Abene and sister, Marie Migliorie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosalie DiBenedetto Abene; her husbands, Sam Balisteri and Frank Marten; grandchildren: Leigh Allison Tucker and Conrad McFadden Marten; three brothers: Joe, Tony, and Leon Abene; and three sisters: Phyllis Anzalone, Corrine Anzalone, and Lucille Gross. Lee was born in Tickfaw, LA on August 3, 1924. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters, the Rosary Altar Society and Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She will remembered for her loving devotion to her family and friends, her strong faith, her generous spirit, and especially, her ever-present smile. The family would like to thank her caregivers for their continuous love and support. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, May 19, 2008, at Harry McKneely and Son funeral home in Hammond from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P. officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Ghost Church Building Fund, 601 N.
