He was a native of Harvey and a retired member of Carpenter's Local 1846 of New Orleans. He is survived by his wife, Lena Greco Martino; two daughters, Anna Mae Martino Meinert of Metairie and Agnes Jo Martino Hagen of New Berlin, Wis.; one sister, Lillie Giacone of Hammond; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Anna Muscarello Martino; two sisters, Josephine Re and Rosalie Pecoraro; three brothers, Vincent, Frank and Joseph Martino. Visitation will be today at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 9:40 a.m. A Mass will be at 10 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. "UNCLE JOE" A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, he went to be with the Lord and his loved ones at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 78, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Hammond. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. She was a lifelong resident of Hammond. She was born on Sunday, May 1, 1921, in Hammond. Surviving are her daughters, Anna Mae (Bill) and Agnes Jo (Bill); grandchildren, Susan (RJ), Karen (Keith), and Elizabeth; her great- grandchildren, Sophie, Connor, Jacob, Zachary and her "baby doll" Zayne. Also her siblings, Nancy Contilli, Francis Contilli, Matteo "Bro" Greco, and Frank Greco. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Guy Carl Martino; her parents, Agnes and Matteo Greco; and sister, Josephine Gentile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but are reassured that she will be dancing at her new home with Guy.
