A boilermaker with Local 582 and a resident of Amite, he passed away at his home on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was 55, and a native of Baker. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Dennis Allen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Paul Dean Quartararo of Central; two sons, Brent Matt, Jr. of Central; and Christian Michael Matt of Livingston; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clevin Jr. and Linda Matt of Kingwood, TX, Tim and Oleda Matt of Slaughter, and Randy and Heidi Matt of Amite; granddaughter, Zsa Zsa Alexis Quartararo; four nephews, and a niece. Preceded in death by his parents, Clevin Joseph Matt Sr. and Emma Jean Clark Matt. Pallbearers are Brent Matt Jr, Clevin Matt Jr, Tim Matt, Randy Matt, Paul Matt, and Chase Matt. Brent was a loving Paw Paw to Zsa Zsa, and enjoyed fishing and NASCAR racing. Jean was a longtime resident of Baker and beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Wednesday, May 19, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel Thursday, May 20, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev.
