Age 57 years. She was born on September 5, 1951 in Hammond, LA to Max Eugene and Sara Thomas Campbell, both now deceased. After graduating from High School, Linda spent the next 11 1/2 years in the United States Air Force, giving her the opportunity to see much of the world. She was stationed in Colorado, California and New Mexico. She also had tours of duty in the Philippines and Turkey, from which point she was able to backpack across much of Western Europe and England. Upon leaving the Air Force, Linda was employed by John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Max Eugene Campbell, Jr. and her sister, Cheryl Campbell; grandparents, John Henry and Emma Sones Campbell and Nuncio Charles and Josephine LaBruzzo Thomas; uncle, Charles Thomas as well as a host of other close relatives. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Brett B. Matthieu of Pearl River, LA; her beautiful daughter, Brandy Rogers of Natchez, MS; sisters-in-law, Lois Merry-Lee (J. Riley) of Slidell, LA, Beverly Deckard (Fred,deceased) of Beaumont, TX, and Norma Jean 'Jeanie' Matthieu Barch (John) of Slidell, LA; Aunts Helen Campbell Goodwin and Ruth Henry Campbell, of San Augustine, TX, Dean Thomas Noto (Victor) of Independence, LA and Shirley Thomas Garafola (Joseph) of Denham Springs, LA; as well as a host of much loved cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and Friends are invited to attend the celebration of Linda's life, led by Brother Billy Trusly of the Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church in Pearl River, on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River, LA from 11 am - 1 pm. Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, LA next to LSU Lallie Kemp.
