He served in the Navy in World War II. He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Gardner; one son, Larry David, 14, and one daughter, Brenda Jane, 13, by a former marriage; five brothers, Joseph L. of Washington, D.C., Curtis of New Orleans, Dr. Norman Mauroner of Hillsboro, N.Car., Donnie of Baton Rouge, Julian in the Air Force; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Watts of New Orleans, Mrs. E. P. Schley of Germany, Miss Nanette Mauroner of Baton Rouge, Miss Elaine Mauroner of New Orleans. One brother proceded him in death. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis D. Mauroner loved birds so much, he and his wife made it a hobby to watch them in their beautiful back yard. It was only appropriate then, that on Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, J.B. died in the air. He lived a full 72 years and spent the better part of them with his beautiful wife of almost 52 years, Marybeth. The two of them have two daughters and sons-in-law, Jana and Sheldon Poché and Dara and Jerry Jett; grandchildren, Mandy Catanzaro, Mitch Poché, Kirby Jett, Daran Jett and Philip Catanzaro; and not to forget, Amí, their little companion. J.B. was best known for his ability to crack a joke and make a friend wherever he went and he loved being a member of the Knights of the Round Table, American Legion, Lions Club and Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant in the Security Intelligence Services. He was a native of Hammond, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and owned Rome Cleaners for 20 years. Words cannot express the man he was. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23. Visitation at Broadmoor United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Mitch Poché and Daran Jett, along with good friends Joe Bodi, Dale Ramerez, Ronnie Brouillette and Irby Dupont. Honorary pallbearers are his beautiful granddaughters, Mandy Catanzaro and Kirby Jett. LOUIS D. Last rites for Mrs. Louis D. Mansour, 57, who died Tuesday from an acute heart attack, were held Wednesday from the Poole Funeral Home. Interment was in Rose Memorial Park with her six sons serving as pallbearers. A native of Georgia, she moved to Hammond 38 years ago, shortly after her marriage, which took place in Covington. She is survived by her husband; six sons, Frank of Baton Rouge, Curtis of New Orleans, Norman of the LSU Medical School, Julian of Hammond, Pfc. Donnie Mauroner OF Tyndall Field, Fla., and Capt. Joe Mauroner of Wichita Falls, Tex.; four daughters, Misses Nannette and Elaine Mauroner of Hammond, Mrs. Dorothy Watts and Mrs. Mildred Gergen of New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. T. C.
