He was born on Wednesday, September 7, 1921 in Bunkie, son of the late Dennis and Eugenia Deglandon Mayeaux. Mr. Mayeaux was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his 2 sons, Charles ³Chuck² Mayeaux, Steven Mayeaux; 3 grandchildren, Jared Mayeaux, Laurie Mayeaux Simon, Nicole Mayeaux; 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Gloria Benandi. He is preceded in death by his 6 brothers, Edley, William, Berkley, Leonard, Charles and Elmore Mayeaux; and 2 sisters, Lena Ponthier and Mathilda Bordelon. She was a native of Ponchatoula and a resident of Landmark Nursing Center, Hammond. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula. She is survived by three sons, Jesse Ray and Rodney Mayeaux, both of Ponchatoula, and Thomas Mayeaux of Holden; one daughter, Carolyn Mayeaux of Albany; one sister, Peggy Stockman of Deville; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
