She was 85 years old. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gary Dennis and the Rev. Larry Brignac. Interment in Lanier Cemetery. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Kenneth Faust of Tickfaw; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Kathryn Mayers of Tickfaw; a brother, Lescine Harper of Loranger; a sister, Mrs. Odis (Calla) Harper Baham of Prairieville; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmond Mayers Sr.; a son, Robert Edmond Mayers Jr.; a grandson, John E. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, being outside, building campfires, cooking, fishing and don't mess with his garden. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Clark Mayers; two sons, Eric Millet and wife Philisha, of Ponchatoula, and Cody Mayers and wife Monica, of Independence; stepson, Shannon Lambert and wife Jessica, of Livingston; eight grandchildren Destanie, Dylan, Cambrea, Chloe, Coen, Gabriel, Maggie and Chase; sister, "Happy" Arnold Mayers, of Gonzales; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lynn and David Ellis, and Amanda and Bert Himel; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bum and Berta Lee Lambright Mayers; sister, Janet Mayers; brother, Gregory Mayers; and aunt, Tommy Gonzales. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice, Ms. Bonnie, Yvette, Amy, Keith, Chaplain Carl and Bill. They made our last days with Mike very special and will never be forgotten. Very special thanks to our good friends, Darrel and Kaye Plymale, and Heavy and Carla Kling.
