A native and longtime resident of Algiers, he was retired from retail shoe sales and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Lucia Mayet; five sisters, Lionel Marie Madrazo, Winnie Schmitt, Ann Tranchina, Earline Rholdon and Velma Duke; and two brothers, Melvin Mayet and Reece Mayet. A mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Algiers.
