Ernest L. McAdams, Jr., born on August 12, 1923 in Baton Rouge, LA passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant during World War II; was co-founder of Hart-Coxe-Melanson & McAdams, Inc. and later founded Commerce Insurance Agency, Inc. and Harper, Cox, McAdams & McAdams, Inc. He was a Mason and member of St. James Lodge No. 47; Valley of Baton Rouge Scottish Rite, 32nd degree; The American Legion, Nicholson Post No. 38 and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Joyce Cox McAdams; his sons, Michael McAdams and wife Susan, Baton Rouge, Brien McAdams and wife Katherine, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Dean McAdams, Baton Rouge; the mother of his children, Marie Fiske McAdams, Baton Rouge; sister, Shirley McAdams, Baton Rouge; 9 grandchildren, Stacey Robillard, Livonia, La., Cindy Good and husband Tim, Arnold, Missouri, Martha Richard and husband Scott, Baton Rouge, Brendan McAdams and wife Lauren, Baton Rouge, Laretta Hull and husband, Erick, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Elena McAdams, Baton Rouge, Andrew McAdams and wife Carol, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Debbie McAdams, Baton Rouge and Travis McAdams, Hammond, La.; 5 great grandchildren, Morgan Robillard, Trevor, Cybelle & Tristan Good and Gavin Richard; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Cox, Denham Springs, La., brothers-in-law, Paul Cox, Harahan, La. and Billy Cox and wife Nelda, Amite, La.
