He was a Louisiana native, born September 25, 1935, in Natchez, MS to Luther McCallister and Dorothy Strickland. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is the beloved father of five daughters, Regina Harrison and Denise Broussard both of Lake Charles, LA, Carolyn Johnson, Suzanne McCallister both of Albany, LA, and Mary Ellen McCallister of New Roads, LA. Four sons, Luther B. McCallister, James McCallister, Roland McCallister of Albany, LA and Kevin McCallister of West Monroe, LA. Seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Maggie Ruth Holden of Hammond, LA and Shirley Sanders of Panama City, FL and two brothers, Frank Strickland of McComb, MS and James Strickland of Water Valley, MS. Preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carolyn Corken McCallister, his father Luther McCallister, his mother Dorothy Strickland, two sisters, Diane Woodard and Judy Strickland.
