A native of Covington, he was a cook and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by one brother, Floyd McClain of Denham Springs; and one sister, Josie McClain Turnage of Hammond. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret McIntyre McClain; three brothers, Sidney, J.D. and Stephen McClain; and two sisters, Bertha McClain Smith and Vinnie McClain Needham.
