He was a resident and a native of Kentwood. He was a dairyman and a member of the Spring Creek Baptist church. Services were from the late residence east of Kentwood Sunday with Rev. Harold McNabb officiating, assisted by Rev. Ross McBeth and John Causey. Burial was in the family cemetery. Brown Funeral Home in Kentwood was in charge of arrangements. He was born in Montpelier on Nov. 9, 1931. His parents were Mrs. Maude Beatrice Bennett, born in Watson, and Mr. Riley S. McDaniel, born in Montpelier. His occupation was teacher, state recruiter and personnel technician for the State of Louisiana. He retired with 32 years of service in 1987. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a Mason and active Gideon for the past 40 years. He served his church as a deacon at Weller Avenue Baptist Church and Sherwood Baptist Church. McDaniel and his wife, Alita M. McDaniel, of New Orleans, Milton McDaniel and his wife, Norma McDaniel, of Denham Springs, Wilton McDaniel and his wife, Martha C. McDaniel, of New Orleans, and Clifford McDaniel and his wife, Susie McDaniel, of Hammond; his grandchildren are A.J., Christopher, Briley and Emma Lindell McDanie and Grant and Connor Dupree.
