She died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 60, a native of Gretna and a resident of Independence. Religious service at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Independence, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Rushing. Interment in church cemetery. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, April McGaughy and Edna Russell and Thomas Russell, all of Independence; eight grand- children; brother and sister-in-law, Marion D. Weedman Jr. and Jenny Sue Weedman, Independence; six nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McGaughy; father, Marion D. Weedman Sr.; mother, Azalea W. Weedman; twin sister, Mary A. Gavin; a nephew and a niece. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, is in charge of arrangements. *************************************************************************
